Get Involved

There are plenty of ways to connect with the campus and the local communities

Here are a few ways to get involved:

Wicked Problems: An Interdisciplinary Project

Produced by students in the IDP program.

Wicked problems are complex issues that resist straightforward solutions. Whether it's climate change, poverty, or healthcare disparities, these problems are shaped by countless variables and often lack clear boundaries. No single discipline holds the key to addressing wicked problems; instead, it requires a collaborative effort that draws on insights from various fields, including science, humanities, social sciences, and more. The aim of the Wicked Problems podcast is to amplify student voices and showcase the power of interdisciplinary approaches in addressing the pressing challenges of our time.

Internships (CCBL)

You have the option of including one or multiple internships in your degree plan. Through a dedicated internship course, you will be guided in finding and securing internship placements that align with your degree focus and career goals. Beyond what’s available through CCBL list, we can customize internship experiences.

Students can also make their internship be their current workplace. Learn more about internships by contacting program director Rebecca Robertson at rebecca.robertson@humboldt.edu or 707-826-4372.

IdeaFest

Showcase and publish your project, internship, podcast, research or other accomplishment at ideaFest, Cal Poly Humboldt’s annual celebration of academic achievements.
